The Challenges Of Website Design and Development

Just as in any other profession such as becoming a Lawyer, Doctor, Accountant or even an Architect, Website Design and Development takes a lot of learning and studying, different skills, effort and for sure a lot of trial and error.

I get clients all the time who have spent hundreds and even thousands of dollars on home study courses, tools and software, just to try to build their own Website. Why not, it looks fairly easy, anyone can do it, right? So why is web development so tricky? It is due primarily to the multiple skills required in getting a good site up and running.

Domains:

You will need to understand the basic elements of registering a domain, setting the DNS with that of your hosting account, FTP (file transfer protocol), and depending on the site type setting the correct permissions on different files & folders (so that you do not get hacked for instance, and to keep passwords secure). You also need an understanding of Cpanel.
